Update 2: On the intel gfx ubuntu PC it starts under wine. I'll try again at work on an unbuntu lts machine with an 'easier' intel integrated gfx. The errors that I see suggests that the cause might be my nvidia gfx card. Update 1: I had some issue running the application under wine on my archlinux machine.
